Philippine GDP in the Fourth Quarter of 2016 maintained at 6.6 percent

Posted: April 6, 2017
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reports that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the fourth quarter of 2016 was maintained at 6.6 percent although revisions in the growth of economic sectors were noted.

Meanwhile, the Gross National Income (GNI) and the Net Primary Income (NPI) from the Rest of the World (ROW) had downward revisions of 6.1 percent and 4.1 percent, respectively.

The annual growth rate of GDP for 2016 was revised upward at 6.9 percent.  The major contributors for the upward revision in 2016 were Construction, Mining and Quarrying, and Other Services. Please see the link below for the complete tables on the revisions.

The PSA revises the GDP estimates based on an approved revision policy which is consistent with international standard practices on national accounts revisions.
