Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER)

Definition

The total enrolment in a given level of education, regardless of age, as a percentage of the population who according to national regulations should be enrolled at this level.
Notes:
The indicator is used to show the general level of participation in elementary and secondary education. It is used in place of the Net Enrolment Ratio (NER) when data on enrolment by single year of age is not available.
