APPROVAL AND ADOPTION OF THE STATISTICAL CALENDAR OF THE NSO

BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Board approve and adopt the statistical calendar of the NSO except for those activities identified for further study;

BE IT RESOLVED FURTHER, that the following ad hoc Inter-Agency Committees (IACs) be created: (1) IAC for the 1990 Census of Population and Housing (CPH); (2) IAC for the 1990 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF); and (3) IAC on Vital Statistics.

The IACs for the 1990 CPH and CAF shall each review the respective questionnaire, methodology, concept, tabulation and other related aspects of the census to ensure the production of accurate, reliable and useful results. The IAC on Vital Statistics, on the other hand, shall continue the review of methodologies and existing systems adopted in generating vital statistics with focus on mortality and natality.

Another activity proposed to be pursued by data producing agencies is the preparation of a manual on certain statistical series which aims to provide the users with technical notes on the sources, methods and limitations of the data.
