APPROVING THE ACTION PLAN ON WAGE DETERMINATION

WHEREAS, pursuant to the results of the Labor Sector’s Dialogue with the President and in support of the wage determination scheme of the Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board (RTWPB), concerned government agencies were convened by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), through the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), to recommend factors/variables which may strengthen wage determination for possible adoption by the Regional Wage Boards;

WHEREAS, during the said meeting of the various data users and producers of wage statistics as spearheaded by the DOLE, the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), as the policy and coordinating agency on statistical matters, was unanimously chosen to take the lead in coordinating the activities of agencies aimed at providing data useful to wage determination;

WHEREAS, the NSCB through its Inter-Agency Committee on Labor, Income and Productivity Statistics (IACLIPS) created the Task Force on Data Support for Wage Determination to identify specific data needs and working arrangements among concerned agencies;

WHEREAS, said Task Force has prepared an Action Plan to support and strengthen wage determination in the country;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Board approve the Action Plan for adoption by concerned entities.
