The  League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) urges the congress to increase the allocation for the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) relative to the conduct of Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) for all local government units regardless of income class during their 3rd General Assembly. The said endorsement from the league was approved and signed at the City of Samal, Province of Davao del Norte on 18 February 2023.

With the vision to implement and institutionalize the CBMS as a tool for poverty mapping and development planning that aims to gather accurate and updated information on the realities and situation of local communities, an increase in budget allocation is necessary to expand the coverage of the program. The CBMS is seen as instrumental in the development and/or improvement of sound policies and programs that caters the needs of every Filipino while ensuring that the voices of the marginalized and vulnerable sectors are heard and addressed.

Through the ratification of this resolution, the PSA-led CBMS aspires to strengthen and maximize the capacity in the fulfilment of the Republic Act No. 11315 or the CBMS Act in every city and municipality, and contribute to the achievement of inclusive and sustainable development outcomes.

For more information and latest announcements on the CBMS, you may visit the PSA CBMS webpage at www.psa.gov.ph/cbms.
