PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, personally attended the training to emphasize the importance of the information and data to be generated by this undertaking. This data will be crucial for data-driven decision-making, implementing government policies, and strengthening social protection programs.

In his opening message, Usec. Mapa stressed the importance of data collection for the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS.

“I urge you to be mindful in your work and ensure you gather recent, accurate data for our local-level and national-level planning. Our social protection programs depend on the data you collect.”

The 2024 POPCEN-CBMS is a nationwide effort that aims to gather comprehensive and accurate data on the country’s population and housing characteristics. The collected data is essential for formulating effective development plans and policies at the local and national levels.

The enumeration for the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS begins on 15 July 2024.
