Release Date:
Reference Number: 2024-113

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) included in the First Quarter 2024 Philippine Standard Geographic Code (PSGC) the creation of Barangay Sultan Corobong, Barangay Sultan Panoroganan, and Barangay Angoyao in  City of Marawi, Lanao del Sur. The three newly created barangays were ratified through a plebiscite conducted simultaneously on 09 March 2024, pursuant to City Ordinances Nos. 18-11, 19-11, and 20-11, s. 2023 of City of Marawi, respectively.

Moreover, the transfer of Barangay Guintolan from Municipality of Payao to Municipality of Imelda in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, pursuant to Supreme Court Decision on 28 June 2021, was likewise reflected in the First Quarter of 2024 PSGC.

Furthermore, the names of 20 barangays in the PSGC masterlist were corrected based on the verification of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) and recommendation of the interagency Technical Working Group on Geographic Code (TWGGC).
