No Philippine Standard Geographic Code (PSGC) Updates for the First Quarter of 2016

There were no changes in the geographical-political units of the country during the first quarter of 2016 (1 January 2016 - 31 March 2016), hence, there were no PSGC updates during the quarter. Consequently, the total number of regions, provinces, cities, municipalities, and barangays during the quarter remained the same with the PSGC updates as of 31 December 2015 as posted on the PSA website.

Per confirmation with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), no plebiscite to ratify any proposed changes in the country's local government units (LGUs) was conducted during the period as required by the Local Government Code.

The latest number of regions, provinces, cities, municipalities, and barangays in the Philippines is shown below:
