Certification of products, including consumer goods, motor vehicles, aircraft, pressurized containers, nuclear plants, etc.

Periodic road-safety testing of motor vehicles

Testing with use of models or mock-ups (e.g. of aircraft, ships, dams, etc)

Operation of police laboratories
