Republic Act No. 11642 (RA 11642), entitled “Domestic Administrative Adoption and Alternative Child Care Act”, was signed into law on 06 January 2022 and took effect on 28 January 2022, fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. Its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) was approved on 28 June 2022 and took effect on 10 August 2022. This law was enacted to help facilitate and expedite the process of adoption and provide an administrative remedy for the parties.
In this regard, the Guidelines in the Registration of the Final Order of Adoption pursuant to RA 11642 is hereby disseminated to the concerned PSA officials and personnel, local civil registrars, and their staff. Copy of which is hereto attached for your reference.
