|DATE||:||14 June 2021|
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has received numerous reports about individuals and social media groups who use the name of the agency in encouraging clients to secure their services for easy and quick transactions in obtaining civil registry documents from PSA.
They also promise prospective clients that for a fee, they can process temporary corrections of civil registry documents (CRDs) such as birth, marriage, and death certificates, and falsified Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR). These Facebook accounts and groups are operating in the guise of a valid and legitimate transaction with the PSA. Among these are the following Facebook accounts :
- Temporary PSA Correction by Charmaine
- PSA Online Assistance Door to Door Delivery
- N.S.O Certificate Process
- PSA Online delivery
- 3J’ RTW Clothing & Document Services
The PSA reiterates its call for the public to transact only with its authorized partners, the PSA Serbilis (www.psaserbilis.com) and the PSA Helpline (www.psahelpline.ph) in requesting copy issuance of CRDs.
The PSA warns the public to desist from participating or availing services from unauthorized individuals or entities. Fixing and falsification of official documents are criminal acts and shall be dealt with by the PSA such as conducting investigation and filing of appropriate cases against those providing or facilitating this kind of services. Finally, transactions made with unauthorized persons, as well as the resulting CRDs therefrom, are null and void and are not recognized by PSA.
