The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of all the provinces in Cagayan Valley posted positive growth in 2023 compared to their levels in 2022. Batanes led the five economies in the region in terms of economic performance with a double-digit growth of 14.5 percent. This was followed by Nueva Vizcaya and Cagayan with growths of 8.7 percent and 7.2 percent, respectively. These three provinces recorded growth rates higher than the regional economic expansion rate of 6.2 percent. (Figure 1)

In terms of share to the regional economy, Isabela had the largest share at 44.2 percent, followed by the Province of Cagayan at 35.7 percent share. These two economies accounted for more than three quarters of the PhP 447.07 billion GDP value of the region. (Figure 2)
