Annual rate of CMRPI in NCR picked up further in April 2021

The CMRPI in NCR continued its upward trend as its annual rate rose further to 1.3 percent in April 2021, from 1.2 percent in March 2021. Its annual change in April 2020 was recorded at 0.8 percent. (Tables A and 2)

Higher annual increases were observed in the indices of the following commodity groups during the month:

• Carpentry materials, 1.8 percent;
• Painting materials and related compounds, 0.9 percent;
• Plumbing materials, 0.7 percent; and
• Miscellaneous construction materials, 1.2 percent.

On the other hand, the index of masonry materials exhibited a slower annual increment of 1.6 percent in April 2021.

The indices of electrical materials and tinsmithry materials retained their corresponding previous month’s annual growth rates of 0.5 percent and 1.8 percent, respectively. (Table 2)
