CMRPI in NCR rose further in April 2022

The annual growth rate of CMRPI in NCR continued to move up at a faster pace of 6.1 percent in April 2022, from 4.8 percent in the previous month. In April of the previous year, its annual growth rate was lower at 1.3 percent. (Tables A and 2)

All commodity groups exhibited higher annual change during the month relative to their annual growth rates in March 2022. Among the commodity groups, the following were observed to have the highest contribution to the year-on-year growth of CMRPI:

a. Painting materials and related compounds; 3.7 percent;
b. Plumbing materials; 7.9 percent;
c. Tinsmithry materials; 8.1 percent; and
d. Miscellaneous construction materials; 10.6 percent. (Table 2)
