CMRPI in NCR picked up in July 2021

The annual rate of CMRPI in NCR was posted at 1.4 percent in July 2021. This was slightly higher than the annual growth rates registered in June 2021 at 1.2 percent and in July 2020 at 1.1 percent. (Tables A and 2)

Annual increments during the month were higher in the indices of the following commodity groups:

a. Electrical materials, 1.0 percent;
b. Plumbing materials, 0.8 percent;
c. Tinsmithry materials, 2.2 percent; and
d. Miscellaneous construction materials, 1.6 percent.

A slower annual increase of 1.0 percent was, however, noted in the index of masonry materials during the month.

The indices of other commodity groups, namely, carpentry materials, and painting materials and related compounds retained their previous month’s annual growth rates at 1.5 percent and 1.1 percent, respectively. (Table 2)
