Annual rate of CMRPI in NCR picks up
The annual rate of increase of CMRPI in NCR was recorded at 1.0 percent in May 2020. This was higher than its annual rate posted in April 2020 at 0.8 percent. On the other hand, the annual rate of CMRPI in May 2019 was registered at 1.5 percent. (Table A and Table 2)
Annual increments were higher in the indices of carpentry materials at 1.0 percent and tinsmithry materials, 1.4 percent during the month. Meanwhile, the annual gain in masonry materials index slowed down to 0.6 percent.
The indices of other commodity groups such as electrical materials, painting materials and related compounds, plumbing materials, and miscellaneous construction materials retained their previous month’s annual growth rates. (Table 2)
