Annual increment of CMRPI in NCR decelerated in May 2021

The annual increase of CMRPI in NCR slowed down to 1.2 percent in May 2021, from 1.3 percent in April 2021. Its annual growth rate in May 2020 was registered at 1.0 percent. (Tables A and 2)

A slower annual hike of 1.5 percent was recorded in the indices of carpentry materials and masonry materials during the month.

Meanwhile, higher annual upticks in May 2021 were noted in the indices of electrical materials at 0.8 percent and miscellaneous construction materials at 1.5 percent.

The indices of other commodity groups such as painting materials and related compounds, plumbing materials, and tinsmithry materials retained their previous month’s annual growth rates. (Table 2)
