CMRPI in NCR decelerates further in October 2022

The annual growth rate of CMRPI in NCR settled at 6.6 percent in October 2022, from 6.8 percent in September 2022. This brings the average growth rate of the index from January to October 2022 to 5.8 percent. In October 2021, its annual growth rate was recorded at 2.1 percent. (Tables A and 2)

The deceleration of CMRPI was mainly brought about by the lower annual growths in the indices of tinsmithry materials at 7.7 percent and plumbing materials at 6.5 percent.

Meanwhile, relative to their respective September 2022 annual rates, higher annual increases were observed in the indices for the rest of the commodity groups, as follows:

a. Carpentry materials, 3.4 percent;
b. Electrical materials, 4.6 percent;
c. Masonry materials, 4.4 percent;
d. Painting materials and related compounds, 5.8 percent; and
e. Miscellaneous construction materials, 11.1 percent. (Table 2)
