CMWPI in NCR went up in June 2021

The annual growth rate of CMWPI in NCR increased to 2.2 percent in June 2021, from 2.0 percent in May 2021. Its annual change in June 2020 was recorded at 1.2 percent. (Tables A and 2)

Compared with their annual rates in May 2021, annual increases were higher in the indices of lumber at 2.3 percent; reinforcing and structural steel, 2.1 percent; and electrical works, 3.9 percent.

Moreover, the annual decline in the index of plumbing fixtures and accessories/waterworks at -1.0 percent was lower during the month relative to its annual drop of -1.8 percent in the previous month.

On the other hand, annual increments slowed down in the indices of the following commodity groups during the month:

a. Sand and gravel, 4.1 percent;
b. Concrete products and cement, 1.5 percent;
c. Plywood, 1.2 percent;
d. G.I. sheet, 0.7 percent;
e. Painting works, 1.4 percent; and
f. Fuels and lubricants, 21.2 percent.

The rest of the commodity groups retained their previous month’s annual growth rates. (Table 2)
