CMWPI in NCR slowly picked up in May 2021

The annual increase of CMWPI in NCR eased to 2.0 percent in May 2021 from 2.4 percent in April 2021. Its annual growth rate in May 2020 was posted at 1.3 percent. (Tables A and 2)

The index of plumbing fixtures and accessories/waterworks continued to move downward as its annual rate dropped by -1.8 percent during the month. Moreover, annual upticks were slower in the indices of reinforcing and structural steel at 1.4 percent, and PVC pipes, 1.0 percent.

Except for the indices of glass and glass products, asphalt, and machinery equipment rental which retained their previous month’s annual growth rates, the rest of the commodity groups exhibited higher annual increments during the month. (Table 2)
