Final 2018 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) Press Release and 2018 FIES Final Report

The Philippine Statistics Authority updates the preliminary 2018 FIES press release which was published on 04 December 2019. The final 2018 FIES now incorporates the updated urban-rural classification based on the results of the 2015 Census of Population and some revisions in the average family size as a result of the validations done when the merged 2018 FIES and the January 2019 Labor Force Survey became available.

After updating, there were changes in average per capita income, and expenditure by decile, but the national average income and expenditure at PhP 313,348 and PhP 238,641 per year, respectively, remained the same.

By income decile, mean per capita income for the first and second deciles were placed at PhP 113,455 (from PhP 113,453/P), and PhP 144,336 (from PhP 144,294/P) per year, respectively. For the tenth decile, mean per capita income was placed at PhP 867,411 (from PhP 867,462/P) per year. As for the updated mean per capita expenditure, the first and second deciles were estimated at PhP 109,159 (from PhP 109,181/P), and PhP 130,152 (from PhP 130,092/P) per year, respectively. For the tenth decile, mean per capita expenditure was estimated at PhP 544,932 (from PhP 545,002/P) per year.
