GRPI in NCR increases further this month
The annual growth rate of GRPI in NCR rose further to 1.8 percent in March 2021, from 1.4 percent in the previous month. Its annual change in March 2020 was recorded at 1.1 percent. (Tables A and 2)
The index of mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials posted an annual increment of 9.0 percent during the month, after recording successive periods of annual decreases since March 2020.
Moreover, the annual growth rates in the indices of chemicals, including animal and vegetable oils and fats moved upward by 0.8 percent from 0.02 percent, and machinery and transport equipment, 0.3 percent from 0.05 percent.
Meanwhile, annual increases slowed down in the indices of crude materials, inedible except fuels at 2.0 percent; and miscellaneous manufactured articles at 0.2 percent. The rest of the commodity groups retained their previous month’s annual rates during the month. (Table 2)
