GRPI in NCR continued to move upward in November 2021

The annual growth rate of GRPI in NCR picked up further to 2.3 percent in November 2021, from 2.1 percent in the previous month. Its annual rate in November 2020 was registered at 1.3 percent. (Tables A and 2)

The uptrend was primarily brought about by the higher double-digit annual increase recorded in the index of mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials at 25.0 percent in November 2021, from 22.1 percent in October 2021.

In addition, annual increments were higher in the indices of the following commodity groups:

• Food 2.1 percent;
• Chemicals, including animal and vegetable oils and fats, 1.3 percent;
• Manufactured goods classified chiefly by materials, 1.2 percent;
• Machinery and transport equipment, 0.4 percent; and
• Miscellaneous manufactured articles, 0.3 percent.

Meanwhile, annual increases slowed down in the indices of beverages and tobacco at 4.4 percent; and crude materials, inedible except fuels, 0.9 percent. (Table 2)
