As the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) successfully delivered over 50 million National IDs and continues its issuance of ePhilIDs, more Filipinos are taking advantage of the benefits of easy access to services and transactions.

“Nagamit ko na ang aking [National ID] sa pagkuha ng educational assistance, pag-apply sa Tulong Panghanapbuhay Sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD), at pagbukas ng [aking] bank account,” she said.

Likewise, Rosebert Taberara, a student from Naval, Biliran, was able to process personal documents and claim remittances using his National ID as valid ID.

“Maire-rekomenda ko ang pag-rehistro sa [National ID system] dahil nakatutulong ito sa anumang transaksyon,” he said.  

Presenting the ePhilID as a valid ID also enabled Pacita Ragasa of Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya to process the Social Security System (SSS) death claim of her son.

“Ginamit ko [ang ePhilID] doon sa [pagkuha ng] lump sum sa anak kong namatay,” she said.

Norlyn Galvan from Roxas, Palawan also completed her personal transactions through her ePhilID.

“Nagamit ko ang aking National ID sa iba’t-ibang transaksyon tulad ng pagkuha ng driver’s license at pagkuha ng aming marriage certificate,” she said.

PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, noted that with more Filipinos receiving their National IDs and ePhilIDs, the PSA is expecting an increase in its use in transactions. He also thanked relying parties in the government and private institutions prioritizing its acceptance as a valid proof of identity.

“With millions of registered persons receiving their National IDs and ePhilIDs, the PSA will continue championing better access to services for Filipinos. We encourage those who are yet to register to the National ID system to be part of the Makabagong Pilipinas, and enjoy easier and faster transactions," he said.

As of 26 April 2024, a total of 50,024,479 National IDs have already been delivered to registered persons nationwide. In addition, 45,438,766 printed ePhilIDs have been issued.
