The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) are set to continue bringing National ID authentication services to beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) during Family Development Sessions (FDS).

4Ps registering

A 4Ps beneficiary from Batac City, Ilocos Norte undergoes authentication through the National ID at an FDS.

In a meeting at the PSA Headquarters in East Avenue, Quezon City, PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, together with PhilSys Registry Office Officer-in-Charge, Deputy National Statistician Fred S. Sollesta and Assistant National Statistician Emily R. Pagador, met with DSWD Program Services and Interventions Deputy Program Manager Rosalie D. Dagulo and other key DSWD personnel to discuss the continuation of the initiative.

“We thank the DSWD for their continued trust in the PSA on the authentication of 4Ps beneficiaries. By making authentication more convenient and accessible to 4Ps beneficiaries, we ensure reliable identity verification and targeted delivery of benefits. This partnership is another step towards a Makabagong Pilipinas where the needs of the vulnerable are prioritized,” said Usec. Mapa.

The initiative, which began mid-February, will be extended to continue authenticating more 4Ps beneficiaries during FDS. Here, they will undergo identity verification through fingerprint scanning for matching against the National ID registry.

Each authentication is equivalent to an attendance to FDS, which is a requirement for all Pantawid families to help them in strengthening marital relationships, parenting roles, health and nutrition, children's educational and psychosocial needs, and promotion of family values.

As of 14 June 2024, a total of 2,001,059x4Ps beneficiaries have been successfully authenticated through the National ID. Through its field offices, the PSA extended its authentication services to the FDS conducted in various parts of the country, including remote areas.

At an FDS in Lamitan City, Basilan, PSA personnel set up multiple counters to efficiently authenticate all 4Ps beneficiaries present.
