The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) wishes to clarify a recent report citing the agency as the source of information on the impact of digital content theft in relation to the Gross Domestic Product. Contrary to articles circulated in the media, PSA has no report or study providing this information and has not issued statements regarding the forgone revenue, loss of livelihood, or cybersecurity threats associated with pirated content.

The PSA, however, releases annual data on the economic contribution of the digital economy. The major components of the Philippine Digital Economy Satellite Account are Digital-enabling infrastructure, E-commerce, Digital media/content, and Government digital services.  For more information on digital economy, the statistical tables, publication, infographics, and technical notes can be accessed at https://psa.gov.ph/digital-economy.

We urge the public to rely on verified sources and official PSA releases for accurate information. Any claims or figures not directly released or confirmed by PSA must be approached with caution.

For further inquiries or to access official data from PSA, please visit our website at https://psa.gov.ph.
