The National Statistics Office (NSO) will hold a dissemination forum to present the final results of the 2009 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) on March 4, 2011 at the Richmonde Hotel located at 21 San Miguel Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

Conducted every three years, FIES gathers data on Filipino family income and expenditure and related information affecting income and expenditure levels and patterns. NSO Administrator Carmelita Ericta underscores the importance of FIES data, especially in the estimation of the country's poverty threshold and incidence.

Honorable Cayetano Paderanga Jr., Secretary of Socio-Economic Planning and Director General of the National Economic and Development Authority shall be the keynote speaker of the data dissemination forum. Mr. Tomas Africa, former Administrator of NSO and Dr. Arsenio Balisacan, Dean of the University of the Philippines School of Economics, were invited to present papers using the FIES data. Assistant Secretary of Policy and Planning of the Department of Agriculture Romeo Recide and Dr. Celia Reyes, Senior Research Fellow of the Philippine Institute for Development Studies shall be discussants.

Statistical tables on the results of the 2009 FIES can be accessed from the NSO website at http://www.census.gov.ph. The public use file (PUF) on this survey can be procured at the Publications and Sales Unit, G/F Solicarel Bldg II, Ramon Magsaysay Blvd., Sta. Mesa, Manila.
