The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Central Office spearheaded the kick-off for the 33rd Civil Registration Month celebration on 01 February 2023 with a grand parade within PSA Complex, East Avenue, Quezon City, which showcase the Philippine culture and festivals. This year’s Civil Registration Month theme is “PSA @ 10: Providing Efficient and Effective Civil Registration and Vital Statistics through Digital Transformation". The activity symbolizes the unity of all Filipinos in the month-long observance of the Civil Registration Month. This was participated by the different units and divisions of the Civil Registration Service along with the different units of the Office of the National Statistician.
After the parade, a Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated for the success of programs of the Civil Registration Service attended by several PSA officials and employees.
A Food Fair was also conducted to show off the talents of the Civil Registration Service Supervisors and personnel in cooking their special dishes.
The Civil Registration Month is celebrated in February of every year pursuant to Proclamation No. 682 signed by the former President Corazon C. Aquino on 28 January 1991. This annual celebration aims to remind the Filipinos of their duty to register acts and events concerning status of persons, enhance nationwide awareness, and appreciation of the legal, administrative, and statistical values of civil registry documents.
