1. Rice, Well Milled

   

   A kilogram of well milled rice had an average  retail price of PhP 46.92 at the national level during the first phase of August 2023 (01 to 05 August 2023). During this period, the average retail price of well milled rice per kilogram inched up by 2.7 percent relative to its price level of PhP 45.68 per kilogram in the second phase of July 2023 (15 to 17 July 2023). Likewise, an increase of 3.0 percent was observed in the average retail price of well milled rice during the first phase of August 2023 compared with its average retail price of PhP 45.56 per kilogram during the first phase of July 2023 (01 to 05 July 2023).    By region, the highest average retail price per kilogram of well milled rice was noted in Region VII (Central Visayas) at PhP 50.05, while the lowest average retail price was reported in the National Capital Region at PhP 43.71 per kilogram during the first phase of August 2023. (Table 1)

2. Pork, Liempo

   At the national level, a kilogram of pork liempo had an average retail price of PhP 335.95 during the first phase of August 2023. It declined by 0.7 percent compared with the average retail price of PhP 338.43 per kilogram of pork liempo in the second phase of July 2023. Similarly, a decrease of 1.2 percent was observed in the average retail price of pork liempo in the first phase of August 2023 compared with its average retail price of PhP 340.09 per kilogram in the first phase of July 2023.    By region, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of pork liempo was observed in Region IV-A (CALABARZON) at PhP 372.40, while the lowest average retail price was registered in Region VII (Central Visayas) at PhP 293.13 per kilogram during the first phase of August 2023. (Table 2)

    

3. Galunggong

   A kilogram of galunggong had an average retail price of PhP 211.27 at the national level during the first phase of August 2023. It went up by 4.3 percent compared with the average retail price of PhP 202.62 per kilogram of galunggong in the second phase of July 2023. Furthermore, the average retail price per kilogram of galunggong in the first phase of August 2023 increased by 6.8 percent relative to its price level of PhP 197.85 per kilogram in the first phase of July 2023.    At the regional level, the highest average retail price per kilogram of galunggong was noted in Region IV-A (CALABARZON) at PhP 268.90, while the lowest average retail price was posted in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) at PhP 140.63 per kilogram during the first phase of August 2023. 4. Ampalaya 

   A kilogram of ampalaya in the country had an average retail price of PhP 112.52 during the first phase of August 2023. An increase of 20.3 percent was observed relative to its average retail price of PhP 93.52 per kilogram in the second phase of July 2023. Likewise, the average retail price per kilogram of ampalaya in the first phase of August 2023 was 21.4 percent higher than its average retail price of PhP 92.68 per kilogram in the first phase of July 2023.    By region, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of ampalaya was reported in Region IV-A (CALABARZON) at PhP 150.10 during the first phase of August 2023, while the lowest average retail price was noted in Region XI (Davao Region) at PhP 72.14 per kilogram. (Table 4)

    

5. Ginger, Hawaiian

   At the national level, a kilogram of ginger hawaiian had an average retail price of PhP 104.76 during the first phase of August 2023. This was higher by 4.2 percent compared with its average retail price of PhP 100.54 per kilogram during the second phase of July 2023. Similarly, an increase of 4.5 percent was observed in the average retail price per kilogram of ginger hawaiian during the first phase of August 2023 relative to its average retail price of PhP 100.28 per kilogram in the first phase of July 2023.    Among regions, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of ginger hawaiian at PhP 132.25 was observed in Region IV-A (CALABARZON) during the first phase of August 2023, while the lowest average retail price was noted in Region I (Ilocos Region) at PhP 83.13 per kilogram. (Table 5)

    

6. Mango, Carabao

   An average retail price of PhP 152.58 per kilogram of mango carabao at the national level was reported during the first phase of August 2023. The average retail price of mango carabao rose by 6.2 percent compared with its average retail price of PhP 143.62 per kilogram in the second phase of July 2023. Likewise, an increment of 13.6 percent was registered in the average retail price per kilogram of mango carabao during the first phase of August 2023 relative to its average retail price of PhP 134.37 per kilogram in the first phase of July 2023.    By region, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of mango carabao was observed in Region VI (Western Visayas) at PhP 185.96, while the lowest average retail price was noted in Cordillera Administrative Region at PhP 77.50 per kilogram during the first phase of August 2023. 7. Refined Sugar

   At the national level, a kilogram of refined sugar had an average retail price of PhP 96.15 during the first phase of August 2023. This reflects a decline of 0.3 percent relative to the national average retail price of PhP 96.45 per kilogram in the second phase of July 2023. Furthermore, a decrease of 0.5 percent was recorded in the average retail price per kilogram of refined sugar during the first phase of August 2023 compared with its average retail price of PhP 96.60 per kilogram during the first phase of July 2023.    Among regions, Region VIII (Eastern Visayas) recorded the highest average retail price per kilogram of refined sugar at PhP 104.92. Meanwhile, the lowest average retail price of PhP 86.30 per kilogram was noted in BARMM during the first phase of August 2023. (Table 7)
