1. Relative to their price levels in the second phase of November 2021 (15 to 17 November 2021), the average retail prices of a kilogram of well milled rice decreased by PhP 0.13 to PhP 1.52 in five trading centers during the first phase of December 2021 (01 to 05 December 2021). Meanwhile, its average price per kilogram picked up by PhP 0.37 to PhP 1.96 in four trading centers during the first phase of December 2021. (Table 1) 2. The average retail prices of a kilogram of pork with bones rose by PhP 5.00 to PhP 21.67 in five trading centers during the first phase of December 2021. However, its average retail price per kilogram during the first phase of December 2021 went down by PhP 0.50 in Cagayan de Oro City, by PhP 2.50 in Batangas City, by PhP 8.17 in Butuan City, and by PhP 17.86 in Digos City. (Table 2) 3. Increases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of bangus between the first phase of December 2021 and the second phase of November 2021, ranging from PhP 3.18 to PhP 12.50, were noted in eight trading centers. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram during the first phase of December 2021 dropped by PhP 2.50 in Tuguegarao City, by PhP 5.16 in Iloilo City, and by PhP 18.71 in Cebu City during the first phase of December 2021. (Table 3) 4. Lower retail prices of vegetables were seen in many trading centers during the first phase of December 2021. (Table 4) 5. Eleven trading centers exhibited upward movements in the average retail prices of a kilogram of red onion during the first phase of December 2021, ranging from PhP 10.00 to PhP 54.85. On the other hand, its average retail price was lower by PhP 7.02 in Kidapawan City. (Table 5) 6. Prices of a kilogram of calamansi during the first phase of December 2021 fell by PhP 1.11 to PhP 10.71 in four trading centers compared with their price levels in the second phase of November 2021. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram went up by PhP 2.50 in Tuguegarao City, by PhP 11.67 in Butuan City, and by PhP 13.04 in Digos City during the period. (Table 6) 7. Increases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of refined sugar, ranging from PhP 0.12 to PhP 3.48, were observed in five trading centers during the first phase of December 2021. Its average retail price, however, dropped by PhP 0.21 in Legazpi City, by PhP 1.00 in Digos City, and by PhP 1.75 in Cabanatuan City. (Table 7) DENNIS S.
