Increase in the average retail prices of a kilogram of regular milled rice, ranging from PhP 0.07 to PhP 2.00, were observed in seven trading centers during the first phase of July 2022 (01 to 05 July 2022) compared with their price levels in the second phase of June 2022 (15 to 17 June 2022). On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram dropped by PhP 0.10 in Cotabato City, by PhP 0.43 in Kidapawan City, and by PhP 1.00 in Digos City during the period. (Table 1) The average retail prices of a kilogram of dressed chicken inched up by PhP 2.27 to PhP 37.50 in 10 trading centers during the first phase of July 2022. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram went down by PhP 2.50 in Cabanatuan City and by PhP 15.00 in Cotabato City during the period. (Table 2) A kilogram of galunggong rose by PhP 0.69 to PhP 40.00 in seven trading centers during the first phase of July 2022. Its average retail price per kilogram, however, dropped by PhP 5.00 in Tuguegarao City, by PhP 10.00 in Batangas City, by PhP 20.00 in Digos City, and by PhP 20.50 in Butuan City. (Table 3) The price of tomato per kilogram decreased by PhP 5.00 to PhP 45.00 in 12 trading centers. However, it increased by PhP 6.00 in Cabanatuan City, by PhP 7.00 in Baguio City, by PhP 7.50 in Cagayan de Oro City, and by PhP 10.00 in Legazpi City. (Table 4) Six trading centers posted increments in the per kilogram price of red onion ranging from PhP 1.54 to PhP 27.50. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram eased down by PhP 7.00 in Baguio City, by PhP 10.00 in both Tuguegarao City and Pagadian City, by PhP 21.00 in Tacloban City, and by PhP 30.00 in Butuan City during the period. (Table 5) Increases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of carabao mango ranging from PhP 2.50 to PhP 35.00 were noted in 11 trading centers during the first phase of July 2022, relative to their respective price levels in the second phase of June 2022. (Table 6) Price hikes in a kilogram of brown and refined sugar were reported in many trading centers during the first phase of July 2022. (Table 7) DENNIS S.
