Starting with the First Phase of July 2023 reference period, this Special Release on Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities will cover the provincial level data. National and regional level data are based on the average of provincial data. The statistical tables following the old coverage will be included as an attachment to the special release until the Second Phase of the December 2023 reference period.

1. Rice, Well Milled
   A kilogram of well milled rice had an average retail price of PhP 45.56 at the national level during the first phase of July 2023 (01 to 05 July 2023). During this period, the average retail price of well milled rice increased by 0.4 percent compared with its price level of PhP 45.37 per kilogram in the second phase of June 2023 (15 to 17 June 2023). In addition, an increment of 0.5 percent was observed relative to its average retail price of PhP 45.35 per kilogram during the first phase of June 2023 (01 to 05 June 2023).
   
   By region, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of well milled rice was reported in Region VII (Central Visayas) at PhP 48.25, while the lowest average retail price was registered in Region I (llocos Region) at PhP 41.88 per kilogram during the first phase of July 2023. (Table 1)

2. Chicken Egg, Medium
   At the national level, a medium-sized chicken egg had an average retail price of PhP 8.44 per piece during the first phase of July 2023. It went down by -1.4 percent compared with its average retail price of PhP 8.56 per piece in the second phase of June 2023. Likewise, a decrease of -1.4 percent was observed relative to its average retail price of PhP 8.56 per piece in the first phase of June 2023.
   
   By region, the highest average retail price of a medium-sized chicken egg per piece was observed in Region VIII (Eastern Visayas) at PhP 9.49, while the lowest average retail price was reported in Region XII (SOCCSKSARGEN) at PhP 7.27 per piece during the first phase of July 2023. (Table 2)

3. Galunggong
   A kilogram of galunggong had an average retail price of PhP 197.85 at the national level during the first phase of July 2023. It decreased by -1.1 percent relative to its average retail price of PhP 200.01 per kilogram in the second phase of June 2023. Moreover, its average retail price declined by -4.4 percent in comparison to its average retail price of PhP 206.92 in the first phase of June 2023.
   
   At the regional level, the highest average retail price per kilogram of galunggong was noted in Region IV-A (CALABARZON) at PhP 259.20, while the lowest average retail price was posted in Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula) at PhP 129.00 per kilogram during the first phase of July 2023. (Table 3)

4. Carrot
   A kilogram of carrot in the country had an average retail price of PhP 131.65 during the first phase of July 2023. An increment of 24.2 percent was registered compared with its average retail price of PhP 106.03 per kilogram in the second phase of June 2023. Similarly, the average retail price in the first phase of July 2023 was higher by 35.0 percent relative to the average retail price of PhP 97.53 per kilogram in the first phase of June 2023.
   
   By region, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of carrot was recorded in Region V (Bicol Region) at PhP 162.30 during the first phase of July 2023, while the lowest average retail price was noted in Cordillera Administrative Region at PhP 85.73 per kilogram. (Table 4)

5. Onion, Red
   At the national level, a kilogram of red onion had an average retail price of PhP 206.59 during the first phase of July 2023. The average retail price of red onion increased by 2.0 percent in comparison to its average retail price of PhP 202.63 per kilogram during the second phase of June 2023. Moreover, its average retail price went up by 1.8 percent relative to its average retail price of PhP 202.90 per kilogram in the first phase of June 2023.
   
   Among regions, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of red onion at PhP 242.23 was observed in MIMAROPA Region during the first phase of July 2023, while the lowest average retail price was registered in Region I (llocos Region) at PhP 167.50 per kilogram. (Table 5)

6. Calamansi
   An average retail price of PhP 88.13 per kilogram at the national level was reported in calamansi during the first phase of July 2023. The average retail price of calamansi declined by -4.9 percent relative to the average retail price of PhP 92.65 per kilogram in the second phase of June 2023. Similarly, a decline of -8.6 percent was noted compared with the average retail price of PhP 96.47 per kilogram of calamansi in the first phase of June 2023.
   
   By region, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of calamansi was posted in MIMAROPA Region at PhP 116.25, while the lowest average retail price was reported in Region XII (SOCCSKSARGEN) at PhP 59.92 per kilogram during the first phase of July 2023. (Table 6)

7. Brown Sugar
   At the national level, a kilogram of brown sugar had an average retail price of PhP 83.32 during the first phase of July 2023. This indicates an increase of 0.2 percent compared with the average retail price of PhP 83.17 per kilogram in the second phase of June 2023. On the other hand, a decrease of -0.2 percent was recorded compared with the average retail price of brown sugar at PhP 83.47 per kilogram during the first phase of June 2023.
   
   Among regions, Region IV-A (CALABARZON) registered the highest average retail price of a kilogram of brown sugar at PhP 90.36. On the other hand, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao recorded the lowest average retail price at PhP 78.15 per kilogram during the first phase of July 2023. (Table 7)
