Changes in the average retail prices of a kilogram of special rice between the first phase of March 2021 (01 to 05 March 2021) and second phase of the previous month (15 to 17 February 2021) were registered in 15 regional centers. (Table 1) On the average, varied movements in the retail prices of a kilogram of pork with bones were observed in 10 regional centers during the first phase of March 2021. (Table 2) Increments in the average retail prices of galunggong, ranging from PhP 10.00 to PhP 60.00 per kilogram, were noted in nine regional centers during the first phase of March 2021. However, its average retail price per kilogram dropped by PhP 5.00 in Cagayan de Oro City, by PhP 14.44 in the National Capital Region (NCR), and by PhP 25.00 in Baguio City during the period. (Table 3) The average retail prices of vegetables declined in many regional centers during the period, relative to their price levels in the second phase of the previous month. (Table 4) Compared with the price levels in the second phase of February 2021, movements in the average retail prices of a kilogram of red onion, ranging from PhP 0.22 to PhP 60.00, were observed in 12 regional centers during the first phase of March 2021. (Table 5) Decreases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of carabao mango, ranging from PhP 7.56 to PhP 70.00 were observed in eight regional centers during the period, from their price levels in the second phase of the previous month. On the other hand, relative to their price levels in the second phase of February 2021, it picked up by PhP 3.00 in Cebu City and by PhP 5.00 in Butuan City in the first phase of March 2021. (Table 6) The average retail prices of a kilogram of brown sugar inched up by PhP 0.02 to PhP 2.50 in five regional centers during the period. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram went down by PhP 2.05 in Kidapawan City and by PhP 5.00 in Iloilo City during the period, from their price levels in the second phase of February 2021.
