The average retail prices of a kilogram of special rice declined by PhP 0.25 to PhP 4.00 in seven trading centers during the first phase of May 2022 (01 to 05 May 2022) compared with their price levels in the second phase of April 2022 (15 to 17 April 2022). Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram rose by PhP 0.10 in Cotabato City, by PhP 0.25 in Pagadian City, by PhP 1.00 in Calapan City, and by PhP 1.23 in Butuan City during the period. (Table 1) Eight trading centers posted price increases of a kilogram of pork with bones by PhP 2.17 to PhP 25.00 during the first phase of May 2022. Its average retail price per kilogram, however, dropped by PhP 35.00 in Kidapawan City during the period. (Table 2) Increments in the average retail prices of a kilogram of galunggong, ranging from PhP 2.50 to PhP 20.00, were seen in six trading centers during the first phase of May 2022. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram went down by PhP 7.71 in the National Capital Region (NCR), by PhP 20.00 in Kidapawan City, by PhP 25.00 in Cabanatuan City, and by PhP 30.00 in Pagadian City. (Table 3) Retail prices of vegetables increased in selected trading centers during the first phase of May 2022. (Table 4) A kilogram of red onion went up by PhP 5.00 to PhP 29.50 in seven trading centers during the first phase of May 2022. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram fell by PhP 2.50 in Tuguegarao City, by PhP 25.00 in Kidapawan City, and by PhP 53.00 in Baguio City during the period. (Table 5). Decreases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of carabao mango ranging from PhP 2.28 to PhP 47.50 were observed in eight trading centers during the first phase of May 2022, compared with their respective price levels in the second phase of April 2022. However, its average retail price per kilogram was higher by PhP 8.50 in Digos City. (Table 6) The average retail prices of a kilogram of brown sugar scaled up by PhP 0.40 to PhP 3.00 in eight trading centers during the first phase of May 2022.
