1. Rice, Regular Milled

At the national level, a kilogram of regular milled rice had an average retail price of PhP 45.33 during the first phase of October 2023 (01 to 05 October 2023). Compared with its average retail price of PhP 46.41 per kilogram in the second phase of September 2023 (15 to 17 September 2023), it declined by 2.3 percent. Likewise, a decrement of 5.9 percent was observed in the average retail price per kilogram of regular milled rice during the first phase of October 2023 from its average retail price of PhP 48.17 per kilogram in the first phase of September 2023 (01 to 05 September 2023). Among regions, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) reported the highest average retail price of regular milled rice at PhP 51.88 per kilogram, while the lowest average retail price was registered in Region II (Cagayan Valley) at PhP 41.08 per kilogram during the first phase of October 2023. (Table 1)

2. Beef, Pure Meat

A kilogram of beef pure meat had an average retail price of PhP 411.98 during the first phase of October 2023. This shows a decrease of 0.4 percent from its average retail price of PhP 413.45 per kilogram in the second phase of September 2023. Similarly, the average retail price per kilogram of beef pure meat went down by 0.3 percent during the first phase of October 2023 relative to its average retail price of PhP 413.18 per kilogram in the first phase of September 2023. By region, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of beef pure meat at PhP 456.75 was observed in Region XIII (Caraga), while the lowest average retail price was registered in BARMM at PhP 316.25 per kilogram during the first phase of October 2023. (Table 2)

3. Galunggong

A kilogram of galunggong in the country had an average retail price of PhP 203.35 during the first phase of October 2023. Compared with its average retail price of PhP 198.02 per kilogram in the second phase of September 2023, it increased by 2.7 percent during the period. Meanwhile, the average retail price per kilogram of galunggong dropped by 2.4 percent during the first phase of October 2023 from its price level of PhP 208.41 per kilogram in the first phase of September 2023. By region, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of galunggong was posted in the National Capital Region (NCR) at PhP 263.95 during the first phase of October 2023, while the lowest average retail price was reported in BARMM at PhP 136.50 per kilogram. (Table 3)

4. Baguio Beans

A kilogram of baguio beans had an average retail price of PhP 121.26 at the national level during the first phase of October 2023. It declined by 14.2 percent relative to the average retail price of PhP 141.25 per kilogram in the second phase of September 2023. Moreover, the average retail price per kilogram of baguio beans decelerated by 25.3 percent during the first phase of October 2023 from its price level of PhP 162.37 per kilogram in the first phase of September 2023. At the regional level, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of baguio beans was registered in Region V (Bicol Region) at PhP 171.83 during the first phase of October 2023, while the lowest average retail price was recorded in Region X (Northern Mindanao) at PhP 75.37 per kilogram. (Table 4)

5. Onion, Red

An average retail price of PhP 190.47 per kilogram at the national level was reported in red onion during the first phase of October 2023. This indicates a decline of 2.0 percent from the average retail price of PhP 194.45 per kilogram in the second phase of September 2023. Similarly, a decrement of 4.8 percent was noted in the average retail price per kilogram of red onion during the first phase of October 2023 from its average retail price of PhP 199.97 per kilogram in the first phase of September 2023. Among regions, Region X (Northern Mindanao) had the highest average retail price of red onion at PhP 227.75 per kilogram during the first phase of October 2023. On the other hand, NCR recorded the lowest average retail price of red onion at PhP 145.61 per kilogram. (Table 5)

6. Mango, Carabao

At the national level, a kilogram of mango carabao had an average retail price of PhP 183.55 during the first phase of October 2023. This indicates an increase of 5.4 percent from its average retail price of PhP 174.14 per kilogram in the second phase of September 2023. Similarly, an increment of 8.3 percent was recorded in the average retail price per kilogram of mango carabao in the first phase of October 2023 from its average retail price of PhP 169.43 per kilogram during the first phase of September 2023. By region, Region III (Central Luzon) registered the highest average retail price of a kilogram of mango carabao at PhP 222.50, while the lowest average retail price was reported in Cordillera Administrative Region at PhP 77.50 per kilogram during the first phase of October 2023.                  (Table 6)

7. Refined Sugar

At the national level, a kilogram of refined sugar had an average retail price of PhP 93.93 during the first phase of October 2023. This was 1.3 percent lower than the average retail price of PhP 95.19 per kilogram in the second phase of September 2023. Moreover, a decline of 1.6 percent was observed in the average retail price per kilogram of refined sugar in the first phase of October 2023 relative to its average retail price of PhP 95.46 per kilogram during the first phase of September 2023. At the regional level, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of refined sugar was noted in Region VIII (Eastern Visayas) at PhP 106.08 during the first phase of October 2023, while the lowest average retail price was observed in BARMM at PhP 85.50 per kilogram. (Table 7)
