Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities Second Phase of August 2021

1. The average retail prices of a kilogram of regular milled rice declined by PhP 0.12 to PhP 4.56 in six trading centers during the second phase of August 2021 (15 to 17 August 2021), from their price levels in the first phase of the month (01 to 05 August 2021). Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram rose by PhP 0.03 to PhP 1.05 in six trading centers. (Table 1)

2. Compared with the price levels in the first phase of August 2021, the average retail prices of a kilogram of pork with bones dropped by PhP 5.42 to PhP 35.31 in four trading centers during the second phase of the month. However, its average retail price per kilogram picked up by PhP 5.64 in Legazpi City, by PhP 10.00 in Cabanatuan City, and by PhP 25.00 in San Fernando City (Region 1) during the period. (Table 2)

3. Movements in the average retail prices of a kilogram of galunggong between the second phase and first phase of August 2021, ranging from PhP 2.43 to PhP 45.00, were noted in 10 trading centers. (Table 3)

4. Vegetables at the retail trade generally increased in many trading centers during the second phase of August 2021. (Table 4)

5. Changes in the average retail prices of a kilogram of red onion, ranging from PhP 0.44 to PhP 18.50, were recorded in nine trading centers during the period, compared with their price levels in the first phase of August 2021. (Table 5)

6. Increases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of calamansi, ranging from PhP 1.43 to PhP 39.29, were seen in five trading centers during the second phase of August 2021, from their price levels in the first phase of the month. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram went down by PhP 0.70 in Iloilo City, by PhP 1.44 in the National Capital Region (NCR) and by PhP 7.50 in San Fernando City (Region 1) during the period. 7. A kilogram of refined sugar was priced higher by PhP 0.11 in NCR, by PhP 1.66 in Cebu City, and by PhP 2.62 in Pagadian City during the second phase of August 2021. Meanwhile, compared with the first phase of August 2021, its average retail price was lower by PhP 0.20 in Digos City and by PhP 0.39 in Legazpi City during the second phase of August 2021.
