1. Rice, Well Milled

   

   At the national level, a kilogram of well milled rice had an average retail price of PhP 50.69 during the second phase of August 2023 (15 to 17 August 2023). Compared with its average retail price of PhP 46.92 per kilogram in the first phase of August 2023 (01 to 05 August 2023), it increased by 8.0 percent. Likewise, an increment of 11.0 percent was observed in the average retail price per kilogram of well milled rice during the second phase of August 2023 relative to its average retail price of PhP 45.68 per kilogram during the second phase of July 2023 (15 to 17 July 2023).    Among regions, Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula) reported the highest average retail price of well milled rice at PhP 54.24 per kilogram, while the lowest average retail price was registered in Region VI (Western Visayas) at PhP 45.84 per kilogram during the second phase of August 2023. (Table 1)

2. Pork, Meat with Bones

   A kilogram of pork meat with bones had an average retail price of PhP 289.51 during the second phase of August 2023. This shows an increase of 0.7 percent from its average retail price of PhP 287.36 per kilogram in the first phase of August 2023. Similarly, the average retail price of pork meat with bones in the second phase of August 2023 inched up by 0.4 percent relative to its average retail price of PhP 288.50 per kilogram in the second phase of July 2023.    By region, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of pork meat with bones at PhP 311.60 was observed in Region IV-A (CALABARZON), while the lowest average retail price was registered in Region VII (Central Visayas) at PhP 242.78 per kilogram during the second phase of August 2023. (Table 2)

    

3. Galunggong

   A kilogram of galunggong in the country had an average retail price of PhP 202.89 during the second phase of August 2023. It decreased by 4.0 percent from the average retail price of PhP 211.27 per kilogram in the first phase of August 2023. However, the average retail price per kilogram of galunggong in the second phase of August 2023 went up by 0.1 percent relative to its price level of PhP 202.62 per kilogram in the second phase of July 2023.    By region, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of galunggong was posted in Region IV-A (CALABARZON) at PhP 263.20 during the second phase of August 2023, while the lowest average retail price was reported in Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula) at PhP 128.33 per kilogram. (Table 3)

    

4. Baguio Beans 

   A kilogram of baguio beans had an average retail price of PhP 144.83 at the national level during the second phase of August 2023. It increased by 16.0 percent relative to its average retail price of PhP 124.83 per kilogram in the first phase of August 2023. Moreover, the average retail price per kilogram of baguio beans in the second phase of August 2023 accelerated by 34.1 percent from its average retail price of PhP 108.04 per kilogram in the second phase of July 2023.    At the regional level, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of baguio beans was registered in Region I (Ilocos Region) at PhP 207.50 during the second phase of August 2023, while the lowest average retail price was recorded in Region X (Northern Mindanao) at PhP 74.21 per kilogram. (Table 4)

    

5. Ginger, Hawaiian

   An average retail price of PhP 107.22 per kilogram at the national level was reported in ginger hawaiian during the second phase of August 2023. This indicates an increase of  2.3 percent from the average retail price of PhP 104.76 per kilogram in the first phase of August 2023. Similarly, an increase of 6.6 percent was noted in the average retail price per kilogram of ginger hawaiian during the second phase of August 2023 from its average retail price of PhP 100.54 per kilogram in the second phase of July 2023.    Among regions, Region IV-A (CALABARZON) had the highest average retail price of ginger hawaiian at PhP 136.63 per kilogram during the second phase of August 2023. On the other hand, Region I (Ilocos Region) recorded the lowest average retail price of ginger hawaiian at PhP 80.00 per kilogram. (Table 5)

    

6. Mango, Carabao

   At the national level, a kilogram of mango carabao had an average retail price of PhP 160.70 during the second phase of August 2023. This indicates an increase of 5.3 percent from its average retail price of PhP 152.58 per kilogram in the first phase of August 2023. Similarly, an increment of 11.9 percent was recorded in the average retail price per kilogram of mango carabao during the second phase of August 2023 from its average retail price of PhP 143.62 per kilogram during the second phase of July 2023.    By region, MIMAROPA Region registered the highest average retail price of a kilogram of mango carabao at PhP 194.42, while the lowest average retail price was reported in Cordillera Administrative Region at PhP 77.50 per kilogram during the second phase of August 2023. (Table 6)

    

7. Refined Sugar

   At the national level, a kilogram of brown sugar had an average retail price of PhP 83.40 during the second phase of August 2023. This was 0.1 percent higher than the average retail price of PhP 83.33 per kilogram in the first phase of August 2023. Moreover, an increase of 0.2 percent was observed in the average retail price per kilogram of brown sugar during the second phase of August 2023 relative to its average retail price of PhP 83.20 per kilogram during the second phase of July 2023.    At the regional level, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of brown sugar was noted in Region IV-A (CALABARZON) at PhP 90.36 during the second phase of August 2023, while the lowest average retail price was observed in Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula) at PhP 77.87 per kilogram. (Table 7)
