Relative to their price levels in the first phase of July 2022 (01 to 05 July 2022), the average retail prices of a kilogram of special rice went down by PhP 0.13 to PhP 1.50 in five trading centers during the second phase of July 2022 (15 to 17 July 2022). On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram inched up by PhP 0.01 in the National Capital Region (NCR) and by PhP 2.00 in Iloilo City during the second phase of the month. (Table 1) The average retail prices of a kilogram of dressed chicken were higher by PhP 1.20 to PhP 10.00 in six trading centers during the second phase of July 2022. Meanwhile, its average price per kilogram was lower by PhP 2.50 in both Iloilo City and Tacloban City, by PhP 5.00 in Pagadian City, by PhP 15.00 in Tuguegarao City, and by PhP 17.50 in Cagayan de Oro City during the period. (Table 2) A kilogram of bangus posted average retail price increases ranging from PhP 5.00 to PhP 20.00 in six trading centers during the second phase of July 2022. However, its average retail price per kilogram moved down by PhP 0.50 in NCR, by PhP 10.00 in both Batangas City and Cagayan de Oro City, and by PhP 30.00 in Cabanatuan City during the period. (Table 3) Price cuts in the average retail prices of vegetables were observed in many trading centers during the second phase of July 2022. (Table 4) Eight trading centers registered increments in the average retail prices of a kilogram of red onion ranging from PhP 2.50 to PhP 19.58 during the second phase of July 2022. Its average retail price per kilogram, however, was lower by PhP 2.50 in Pagadian City during the period. (Table 5) The average retail prices of a kilogram of mango carabao fell by PhP 1.15 to PhP 30.00 in five trading centers during the second phase of July 2022. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram during the second phase of July 2022 rose by PhP 5.00 in Cebu City, by PhP 7.00 in Tacloban City, and by PhP 10.00 in both San Fernando City (Region 1) and Digos City. (Table 6) Increments in the average retail prices of a kilogram of refined sugar, ranging from PhP 1.05 to PhP 22.37, were recorded in 10 trading centers in the second phase of July 2022, compared with their price levels in the first phase of July 2022.
