Relative to their price levels in the first phase of the month (01 to 05 March 2021), decreases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of special rice, ranging from PhP 0.01 to PhP 5.18, were recorded in nine regional centers during the second phase of March 2021 (15 to 17 March 2021). On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram increased by PhP 0.13 to PhP 1.75 in four regional centers during the period. (Table 1) The average retail prices of a kilogram of pork with bones picked up by PhP 5.00 to PhP 20.00 in five regional centers during the second phase of March 2021. Meanwhile, it fell by PhP 25.00 per kilogram in Pagadian City during the period. (Table 2) Changes in the average retail prices of a kilogram of galunggong between the second phase and first phase of March 2021, ranging from PhP 0.89 to PhP 40.00, were recorded in 12 regional centers. (Table 3) On the average, prices of vegetables at the retail trade were lower in many regional centers during the second phase of March 2021. (Table 4) Price cuts in the average retail prices of a kilogram of red onion, ranging from PhP 7.50 to PhP 50.00, were registered in eight regional centers during the period. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram went up by PhP 2.50 in Baguio City, by PhP 5.00 in Cabanatuan City, and by PhP 10.00 in Cagayan de Oro City and Cotabato City. (Table 5) A kilogram of calamansi exhibited price declines, ranging from PhP 2.50 to PhP 27.33, in 10 regional centers during the second phase of March 2021. (Table 6) Compared with their price levels in the first phase of March 2021, the average retail prices of a kilogram of brown sugar went down by PhP 0.44 to PhP 0.98 in three regional centers in the second phase of March 2021. On the contrary, its average retail price per kilogram rose by PhP 3.00 in Cabanatuan City during the period. (Table 7) DENNIS S.
