1. The average retail prices of a kilogram of well milled rice inched up by PhP 0.18 to PhP 3.07 in five trading centers during the second phase of May 2023 (15 to 17 May 2023) relative to their respective price levels in the first phase of May 2023 (01 to 05 May 2023). Meanwhile, its average retail prices per kilogram dropped by PhP 0.02 in the National Capital Region (NCR), by PhP 0.50 in both Tuguegarao City and Butuan City, and by PhP 2.08 in Cebu City during the period. (Table 1)

2. Increments in the average retail prices of a kilogram of pork with bones, ranging from PhP 5.00 to PhP 25.00, were reported in five trading centers during the second phase of May 2023. However, its average retail prices per kilogram were lower by PhP 2.50 in both Calapan City and Cotabato City, by PhP 2.83 in NCR, by PhP 5.00 in Tuguegarao City, and by PhP 10.00 in Cabanatuan City during the period. 3. Compared with their price levels in the first phase of May 2023, decreases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of galunggong, ranging from PhP 5.23 to PhP 35.00, were observed in seven trading centers during the second phase of May 2023. On the other hand, its average retail prices per kilogram accelerated by PhP 5.00 in Cotabato City, by PhP 15.00 in Cabanatuan City, by PhP 20.00 in San Fernando City (Region 1), and by PhP 30.00 in Tacloban City during the period. (Table 3)

4. Varied changes in the average retail prices of vegetables were exhibited in many trading centers during the second phase of May 2023. (Table 4)

5. Increases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of red onion, ranging from PhP 2.00 to PhP 35.00, were posted in 10 trading centers during the second phase of May 2023. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram decreased by PhP 12.50 in Calapan City during the period. (Table 5)

6. The average retail prices of a kilogram of mango carabao declined by PhP 7.34 to PhP 20.00 in seven trading centers during the second phase of May 2023. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram climbed by PhP 5.00 in Butuan City during the period. (Table 6)

7. Decrements in the average retail prices of a kilogram of brown sugar, ranging from PhP 0.23 to PhP 4.88, were observed in seven trading centers during the second phase of May 2023. However, its average retail prices per kilogram rose by PhP 0.50 in Cabanatuan City, by PhP 0.75 in Baguio City, and by PhP 2.00 in Tuguegarao City during the period. (Table 7)
