1. Rice, Well Milled

   

   At the national level, a kilogram of well milled rice had an average retail price of PhP 51.67 during the second phase of October 2023 (15 to 17 October 2023). Compared with its average retail price of PhP 51.25 per kilogram in the first phase of October 2023 (01 to 05 October 2023), it increased by 0.8 percent. Meanwhile, a decrement of 0.2 percent was observed in the average retail price per kilogram of well milled rice during the second phase of October 2023 from its average retail price of PhP 51.77 per kilogram in the second phase of September 2023 (15 to 17 September 2023).    Among regions, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) reported the highest average retail price of well milled rice at PhP 57.31 per kilogram, while the lowest average retail price was registered in Region I (Ilocos Region) at PhP 46.10 per kilogram during the second phase of October 2023. (Table 1)

2. Dressed Chicken

   

   A kilogram of dressed chicken had an average retail price of PhP 195.13 during the second phase of October 2023. This shows a decrease of 1.2 percent from its average retail price of PhP 197.46 per kilogram in the first phase of October 2023. Similarly, the average retail price per kilogram of dressed chicken went down by 0.8 percent during the second phase of October 2023 relative to its average retail price of PhP 196.64 per kilogram in the second phase of September 2023.    By region, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of dressed chicken at PhP 213.79 was observed in Region X (Northern Mindanao), while the lowest average retail price was registered in Region VII (Central Visayas) at PhP 165.00 per kilogram during the second phase of October 2023. (Table 2)

3. Galunggong

   

   A kilogram of galunggong in the country had an average retail price of PhP 201.58 during the second phase of October 2023. Compared with its average retail price of PhP 203.67 per kilogram in the first phase of October 2023, it declined by 1.0 percent during the period. However, the average retail price per kilogram of galunggong climbed by 1.8 percent during the second phase of October 2023 from its price level of PhP 198.02 per kilogram in the second phase of September 2023.    By region, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of galunggong was posted in the National Capital Region (NCR) at PhP 259.57 during the second phase of October 2023, while the lowest average retail price was reported in BARMM at PhP 134.63 per kilogram. (Table 3)

    

4. Baguio Beans

   

   A kilogram of baguio beans had an average retail price of PhP 108.33 at the national level during the second phase of October 2023. It declined by 10.4 percent relative to the average retail price of PhP 120.93 per kilogram in the first phase of October 2023. Moreover, the average retail price per kilogram of baguio beans decelerated by 23.3 percent during the second phase of October 2023 from its price level of PhP 141.25 per kilogram in the second phase of September 2023.    At the regional level, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of baguio beans was registered in Region V (Bicol Region) at PhP 158.50 during the second phase of October 2023, while the lowest average retail price was recorded in Region II (Cagayan Valley) at PhP 40.00 per kilogram. (Table 4)

5. Onion, Red

   

   An average retail price of PhP 185.55 per kilogram at the national level was reported in red onion during the second phase of October 2023. This indicates a decline of 2.4 percent from the average retail price of PhP 190.16 per kilogram in the first phase of October 2023. Similarly, a decrement of 4.6 percent was noted in the average retail price per kilogram of red onion during the second phase of October 2023 from its average retail price of PhP 194.45 per kilogram in the second phase of September 2023.    Among regions, Region X (Northern Mindanao) had the highest average retail price of red onion at PhP 228.92 per kilogram during the second phase of October 2023. On the other hand, NCR recorded the lowest average retail price of red onion at PhP 142.75 per kilogram. (Table 5)

    

6. Mango, Carabao

   

   At the national level, a kilogram of mango carabao had an average retail price of PhP 180.76 during the second phase of October 2023. This indicates a decrease of 1.7 percent from its average retail price of PhP 183.89 per kilogram in the first phase of October 2023. However, an increment of 3.8 percent was recorded in the average retail price per kilogram of mango carabao in the second phase of October 2023 from its average retail price of PhP 174.14 per kilogram during the second phase of September 2023.    By region, Region III (Central Luzon) registered the highest average retail price of a kilogram of mango carabao at PhP 212.21, while the lowest average retail price was reported in Cordillera Administrative Region at PhP 77.50 per kilogram during the second phase of October 2023. (Table 6)

    

7. Refined Sugar

   

   At the national level, a kilogram of refined sugar had an average retail price of PhP 93.64 during the second phase of October 2023. This was 0.2 percent lower than the average retail price of PhP 93.84 per kilogram in the first phase of October 2023. Moreover, a decline of 1.6 percent was observed in the average retail price per kilogram of refined sugar in the second phase of October 2023 relative to its average retail price of PhP 95.19 per kilogram during the second phase of September 2023.    At the regional level, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of refined sugar was noted in Region VIII (Eastern Visayas) at PhP 106.08 during the second phase of October 2023, while the lowest average retail price was observed in BARMM at PhP 84.50 per kilogram. (Table 7)
