The average retail prices of a kilogram of regular milled rice were lower by PhP 0.01 to PhP 2.00 in four trading centers during the second phase of September 2022 (15 to 17 September 2022), relative to price levels in the first phase of September 2022 (01 to 05 September 2022). On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram went up by PhP 0.16 in Baguio City, PhP 0.37 in Cebu City, by PhP 0.75 in Kidapawan City, and by PhP 1.20 in Butuan City during the period. Decrements in the average retail price of a kilogram of dressed chicken, ranging from PhP 5.00 to PhP 29.50, were noted in seven trading centers during the second phase of September 2022. However, its average retail price per kilogram was higher by PhP 0.90 in the National Capital Region (NCR) during the period. (Table 2)
The average retail prices of a kilogram of galunggong fell by PhP 20.00 to PhP 75.00 in four trading centers during the second phase of September 2022. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram rose by PhP 2.31 in NCR, by PhP 5.00 in both Batangas City and Iloilo City, and by PhP 30.00 in Tacloban City. (Table 3)
Increases in the average retail price of vegetables were reported in many trading centers during the second phase of September 2022. (Table 4)
A kilogram of red onion registered higher prices by PhP 10.00 to PhP 40.00, in eight trading centers during the second phase of September 2022. Its average retail prices per kilogram, however, declined by PhP 15.00 in both Cabanatuan City and Cagayan de Oro City during the period. (Table 5)
Reductions in the average retail price of a kilogram of calamansi by PhP 0.80 to PhP 15.00 were noted in five trading centers during the second phase of September 2022. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram during the second phase of September 2022 picked up by PhP 2.50 in Tuguegarao City. (Table 6)
A kilogram of brown sugar retailed higher by PhP 0.15 to PhP 12.50 in four trading centers during the second phase of September 2022. Meanwhile, its average retail prices per kilogram dropped by PhP 3.13 in Kidapawan City, by PhP 7.25 in Batangas City, and by PhP 8.13 in Legazpi City during the period. (Table 7)
