On 27 April 2018, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) granted clearance to the conduct of the Hotels, Restaurants, and Other Institutions Survey (HRIS) - Caraga. The survey is a joint project of the Department of Agriculture (DA) - Caraga and the Caraga State University (CSU) – the institution commissioned to conduct the survey.
The survey aims to provide baseline data on the demand and consumption for the supply of meat, major crops and vegetables and provide reference on the identification of areas suitable for the production and marketing of priority commodities in the Caraga Region.
The data to be collected from the survey will generate information on the following:
- Profile of hotels, restaurants, and other institutions
- Top meat commodities (poultry and livestock), crops (cereals and vegetables), agro-forestry and fisheries
- Storage system facilities
The HRIS will cover a total of 500 establishments located at different urban centers in the provinces of Caraga.
The survey will utilize a total budget of Php 2.0 million for maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE) such as travelling expenses, representation, supplies, communications, seminars, printing expenses and other expenses.
The results of the survey are expected to be released in December 2018.
The survey was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS), a mechanism being implemented by the PSA by virtue of Rule 28 of Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act (RA) No. 10625 to:
- ensure sound design for data collection;
- minimize the burden placed upon respondents;
