The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) approved the clearance for the Survey of 2015 Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Beneficiaries to be conducted by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on 23 October 2017.

The survey aims to provide evidence on the extent of success among SLP beneficiaries in terms of being able to sustain their livelihood after receipt of assistance from SLP and to develop an estimated model of the determinants of livelihood success among SLP beneficiaries.

A sample of 5,000 SLP beneficiaries in 2015 will be selected to participate in the survey in November 2017 covering 584 municipalities and cities in all regions except Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula) and Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

The data items that will be collected include the following:

• Socio-demographic data of respondents: highest level of education completed, trainings attended, work experience as employee, business experience, exposure to business, household assets, access to financial services, labor force participation

• Data on SLP Participation: type of SLP assistance chosen/received, reason for choice of assistance, amount received, job acquired through SLP, business established or expanded through SLP, current status of job acquired through SLP or of business established or expanded through SLP

• Perception on SLP impact to standard of living

• Personality traits of SLP beneficiaries

• Entrepreneurial traits of SLP beneficiaries

• Risk attitudes of SLP beneficiaries

 
Results of the survey is scheduled to be released in February 2018.
 
The survey was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the Statistical Survey Review Clearance System (SSRCS), a mechanism being implemented by the PSA by virtue of Rule 28 of Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of RA
No. 10625 to:
 
• ensure sound design ensure sound design for data collection;
• minimize the burden placed upon respondents; 
• effect economy in statistical data collection; 
• eliminate unnecessary duplication of statistical data collection; and 
• achieve better coordination of government statistical activities.
