The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), as the central statistical authority of the Philippine government on primary data collection, is committed to deliver relevant and reliable statistics to our stakeholders.

For our agriculture and fisheries statistics, our surveys underwent enhancement of designs to reflect the changes in the structure of the agriculture and fishery sector and to ensure reliability of estimates. The PSA engaged the services of technical experts in the redesigning of our surveys, which led to the increase of sample size, number of hired data collectors and processors, and budget to cover the expenses of the survey.

The statistical methodologies adopted by the PSA are vetted by the Technical Working Groups (TWG) on Crops Statistics, Livestock and Poultry Statistics, and Fishery Statistics; Inter-agency Committee (IAC) on Agriculture and Fishery Statistics; and the PSA Board prior to their implementation. The TWG, IAC, and PSA Board are composed of representatives from various government agencies and private sector.

The PSA upholds its unwavering commitment in maintaining a robust system in all aspects of data collection, processing, and validation, guided by professional standards, scientific principles, and ethical standards.

To further improve reliability and timeliness of our agriculture and fisheries statistics, the PSA continues to enhance its survey methodologies and operational procedures.

Visit www.psa.gov.ph for more information and updates about the PSA’s statistical services.
