The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), through its Standards Service, has granted clearance for the conduct of the “2025 Retail Price Survey of Selected Commodities for the Generation of Retail Price Index.”

To be conducted by the PSA Economic Sector Statistics Service, the objective of the survey is to collect prices at which retailers dispose of their goods to consumers or end-users for the computation of the Retail Price Index.

The survey will gather key data on retail price data of selected commodities, and name and address of store.

With an allocated budget of approximately PhP 7.4 million, the 2025 Retail Price Survey of Selected Commodities for the Generation of Retail Price Index will cover 2,036 establishments in the National Capital Region.

Data collection is scheduled from January to December 2025, with the results anticipated to be released on the 30th day after the reference month.

The “2025 Retail Price Survey of Selected Commodities for the Generation of Retail Price Index” was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS). This mechanism is implemented by the PSA by virtue of Rule 28 of Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 10625 to:

    1. Ensure sound design for data collection
    2. Minimize the burden placed upon respondents
    3. Effect economy in statistical data collection
    4. Eliminate unnecessary duplication of statistical data collection efforts
    5. Achieve better coordination of government statistical activities

The PSA strongly encourages all sampled establishments to actively participate in the 2025 Retail Price Survey of Selected Commodities for the Generation of Retail Price Index by providing accurate and truthful information for data-driven evaluation to strengthen market insights and policy development.
