The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) granted clearance for the conduct of the Youth Participation Action Record (YPAR) by the Youth Development Office (YDO) of the Provincial Government of Sarangani.

YPAR aims to assess youth participation at a holistic level and the following nine-centers of youth participation under the Philippine Youth Development Plan 2017-2023:

  1. Health;
  2. Education;
  3. Economic Empowerment;
  4. Social Inclusion and Equity;
  5. Peace-building and Security;
  6. Governance;
  7. Active Citizenship;
  8. Environment; and
  9. Global Mobility

The undertaking will also provide inputs to address Sarangani Youth issues and concerns through effective, appropriate, and high impact  LGU youth programs.

About 300 youths, aged 15 to 30 years old, will be selected in all 141 barangays in Sarangani province and will be randomly selected to be interviewed in the survey in August 2022. A total budget of PhP 1.6 million will be utilized by the survey and the survey results are expected to be released in November 2022.

The YPAR was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS), a mechanism being implemented by the PSA by virtue of Rule 28 of Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 10625 to:

  1. ensure sound design for data collection;
  2. minimize the burden placed upon respondents;
  3. effect economy in statistical data collection;
  4. eliminate unnecessary duplication of statistical data collection efforts; and
  5. achieve better coordination of government statistical activities.

In line with this, the PSA enjoins the youth aged 15 to 30 years old in the province of Sarangani to participate in the survey by providing the required information.

For further information on SSRCS, please contact the Statistical Standards Division (SSD) of the Standards Service (SS) with telephone numbers (02) 8376-1928 and (02) 8376-1931, and email addresses ssd.staff@psa.gov.ph and ssdss.staff@gmail.com.
