The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), through its Standards Service (SS), has formally granted clearance for the conduct of the “Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Walang Gutom Program Extended Pilot Midline Survey”.

The survey aims to generate preliminary findings on the impact of the extended pilot, particularly with respect to changes in implementation, as reflected in perceptions of hunger and food insecurity, as well as objective measures of food consumption and expenditure.

The survey will collect key data on the following: 1. experience of hunger, 2. experience of food insecurity based on the Food Insecurity Experience Scale, 3. food consumption by item, and 4. food expenditure by item.

With a total budget allocation of PhP 2.6 million, the survey will be conducted across 3,702 households located in Tondo, National Capital Region; San Mariano, Isabela; Garchitorena, Camarines Sur; Dapa, Surigao del Norte; and Parang, Maguindanao del Norte.

Data collection is scheduled for May 2025, with the survey results targeted for release in June 2025.

The survey has been reviewed and cleared under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS), a mechanism implemented by the PSA pursuant to Rule 28 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 10625.

The SSRCS covers statistical surveys conducted and/or funded by government agencies, government-owned- and/or -controlled corporations, and local government units. It aims to:

    1. Ensure a sound design for data collection
    2. Minimize the burden placed upon respondents
    3. Effect economy in statistical data collection
    4. Eliminate unnecessary duplication of statistical data collection efforts
    5. Achieve better coordination of government statistical activities

The PSA strongly encourages all sampled households to actively participate in the “DSWD Walang Gutom Program Extended Pilot Midline Survey” by providing accurate and truthful information for data-driven evaluation of hunger mitigation efforts and community-level impacts on food security and consumption.

For more information on the SSRCS, visit https://psa.gov.ph/ssrcs or contact the PSA SS Statistical Standards Division via email at ssd.ssrcs@psa.gov.ph.
