The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) granted clearance for the conduct of the 2023 Children and Youth Profiling by the Makati Social Welfare Department (MSWD) to provide a city-wide dataset that will serve as basis for evidence-based planning and policy formulation that respond to the standards of maintaining a child-friendly Makati City.

MSWD’s 2023 CYP adopts a complete enumeration data gathering process which targets to cover all families within the geographical jurisdiction of the City of Makati.

This statistical initiative is geared towards collecting precise information about children and their families with the objective of laying a solid groundwork for evidence-driven strategic planning, decision-making, and policy creation within the realm of social welfare and development. This effort aims to strengthen the Makati Social Welfare Department's ability to create tailored interventions, allocate resources efficiently, and implement policies that adapt to the changing community needs. The 2023 CPY will also evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the different social welfare
services already in place.

Major data items to be collected in the survey are as follows:

      a. Total population of children and youth in the City of Makati
      b. Percentage of fully immunized children aged 12 months old in the City of Makati
      c. Percentage of pregnant adolescents provided with pre-natal and post-partum services
      d. Percentage of children aged 3-4 years old receiving Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) services
      e. Total number and types of ECCD services available in the City of Makati
      f. Percentage of accredited or recognized center-based ECCD services in the City of Makati
      g. Percentage of school dropouts integrated in the academic year 2021-2022
      h. Percentage of out-of-school children and youth (OSCY) registered/enrolled in schools, ALS, or other flexible learning options
      i. Percentage of individuals and families with knowledge and understanding of MSWD programs and services

A total of PhP 4,428,000.00 will be utilized for this activity. The Profiling will run in December 2023. The results are expected to be released by January 2024.

The survey was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS), a mechanism being implemented by the PSA by virtue of Rule 28 of Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 10625 to:

     a.  ensure sound design for data collection;
     b.  minimize the burden placed upon respondents;
     c.  effect economy in statistical data collection;
     d.  eliminate unnecessary duplication of statistical data collection efforts; and
     e.  achieve better coordination of government statistical activities.

In line with this, the PSA enjoins all families of Makati City to participate in the survey by providing the truthful information.
