The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) granted clearance for the conduct of the “Assessment on the Certification and Enhancement of ATI Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA) Survey” by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).
The statistical activity aims to collect first-hand information that is essential for achieving the objectives of the ATI study, which has been commissioned to the Brain Trust: Knowledge and Options for Sustainable Development, Inc. The study will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the LSA Program, focusing on its design, implementation, and outcomes. Specifically, the survey results aim to address the following objectives:
Characterize and differentiate the socio-economic characteristics of the learning site cooperators per commodity
Determine the effectiveness and extent to which objectives of the program were achieved
Determine if the program is worth the investment; and
Determine the sustainability of the learning sites.
The survey will utilize a budget of around PhP 0.548 Million, and is designed to collect data from 398 establishments nationwide. The following are the major data items to be collected:
Socio-economic profile of the respondent LSA and its operator;
Private LSA organizational characteristics;
Characteristics of LSA;
LSA activities and productivity;
LSA income and expenditures;
Trainings; and
ATI LSA certification.
Questionnaires will be distributed and collected from September to November 2024, and the survey results are expected to be released in January 2025.
The “Assessment on the Certification and Enhancement of ATI Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA) Survey” was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS). This mechanism is implemented by the PSA by virtue of Rule 28 of Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 10625 to:
Ensure sound design for data collection
Minimize the burden placed upon respondents
Effect economy in statistical data collection
Eliminate unnecessary duplication of statistical data collection efforts
Achieve better coordination of government statistical activities
In line with this, the PSA encourages all sampled establishments to participate in this statistical activity by providing accurate and truthful information.
