The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) marks a significant milestone in the agency's history as it registers over 92 million Filipinos to the National ID system.
As of 05 February 2025, a total of 92,016,069 Filipinos have successfully registered to the National ID system.
“This remarkable accomplishment is a result of the dedication of the strong men and women of the PSA to make the National ID inclusive and accessible to every Filipino,” said PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General. “This achievement will be an impetus for the PSA to drive the use cases of the National ID, especially with the authentication services.”
Through the registration efforts of the PSA, more Filipinos are reaping the benefits of being part of the National ID system such as having a valid proof of identity that can be presented in transactions, allowing access to services.

Heminigilda Acheta, a 98-year-old resident from Barangay Sto. Tomas, Saguday, Quirino shared how the National ID has helped her process her delayed birth registration, which she had been struggling with for years.
“Ako po ay 98 taong gulang. Sa tulong ng aking National ID, may pagkakataon ako upang makapagrehistro ng aking kapanganakan. Ito ang aking gagamitin bilang pangunahing requirement sa pag proseso ng aking delayed registration,” Acheta said. “Malaking bagay po ito para sa akin dahil sa wakas magkakaroon na rin ako ng opisyal na dokumento na magpapatunay ng aking pagkakakilanlan,” she added.
In rural areas, the National ID has been an invaluable tool for many Filipinos who previously struggled with lack of identification.
A resident from Barangay Iligan, Esperanza, Masbate, Ana Grace Mariano recounted how registering to the National ID system helped her overcome issues with alternative types of identification.

"Nagamit ko na siya nung nag-open ako ng account sa bangko at sa mga kailangan na transaksyon sa munisipyo kung saan kailangan ng valid ID," Mariano said. "Basta sa lahat ng transaksyon na kailangan ng valid ID, talagang nagamit ko na po siya," she added.
The younger generation is also reaping the benefits of being part of the National ID system since the launch of the Rehistro Bulilit campaign. This effort aims to register children as young as 0 to 4 years old, ensuring immediate and future access to services.

Carliza Galut registered her daughter to the National ID during a Rehistro Bulilit activity in Barangay Socorro, Quezon City, noting that having a valid ID at a young age would be advantageous for her daughter.
"Magagamit niya itong National ID sa school at sa mga bangko. In the future din, sa mga airports at pagkuha ng requirements,” she explained. “Very helpful. Kasi ‘di ba ‘yong iba wala pang ID na mai-present. Siya na bata pa, may valid proof of identification na siya," she added.
The PSA has also started registration of overseas Filipinos. In November 2024, the PSA, in partnership with the Philippine Embassies in Brunei Darussalam and Thailand joined the Multi-Agency Services Caravan (MASC), where government services like National ID registration and requests for civil registry documents were brought closer to Filipinos working abroad.
Locally, the PSA continues its efforts to reach far-flung areas through the National ID on Boat and National ID on Wheels, utilizing available vehicles in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA) to bring National ID registration services closer to residents.
“This accomplishment strengthens the PSA’s commitment in developing the use cases for the National ID, making it the primary identification used for transactions,” said Assistant Secretary Rosalinda P. Bautista, Deputy National Statistician of the PhilSys Registry Office (PRO).
In addition, the PSA has successfully integrated institutions into its National ID authentication services. Recently, the PSA established partnerships with the Credit Information Commission, GoTyme Bank, and Asia United Bank.
